When the chill of winter bites, your hands and feet are often the first to feel it. If you’re prone to chilblains, you’ll know how uncomfortable and persistent they can be. At Holistic Emporium, we believe nature provides the best solutions. That’s why we’ve created this simple, soothing DIY balm recipe using our favourite all-natural ingredients.
What You’ll Need:
1 tsp Beeswax Vegan (natural emollient and skin protector)
1 Tbsp Shea Butter (deeply moisturising and soothing)
2 Tbsp Carrier Oils (Jojoba and Avocado Oils work beautifully)
Optional: Use our Calendula-infused Oil for extra healing benefits
¼ tsp Vitamin E Oil (a natural antioxidant and skin healer)
Essential Oils:
5 drops Lavender (calming)
3 drops Rosemary (boosts circulation)
2 drops Peppermint (cooling yet stimulating) – Optional
Equipment:
A heatproof bowl (or double boiler)
Stirring stick
15–30 ml glass jar or balm tin
Method:
Melt the beeswax, shea butter, and carrier oils together over gentle heat.
Remove from heat and stir in Vitamin E oil and essential oils.
Pour into your clean jar or tin and allow to set.
Label and store in a cool place. Your balm will keep for 6–8 months.
Why This Balm Works:
Our balm is formulated to help stimulate circulation, soothe inflammation, and protect your skin from harsh conditions. Shea butter and beeswax create a nourishing barrier, while rosemary and peppermint work synergistically to warm and revitalise.
Pro Tip:
For best results, apply the balm to affected areas before bed and wear gloves or socks overnight.
