Four ingredients, two minutes, and a mist you can keep on the bathroom shelf.

Tea tree is one of the few essential oils with genuine, well-documented antibacterial credentials, which is why it turns up in so many acne products. Witch hazel tightens and tones, and the lavender is there to take the edge off.

Method
01

Combine

Add all the ingredients to a clean spray bottle.

02

Shake and use

Shake well before each use, then mist onto clean skin as needed.

Tips and swaps

  • Patch test on your inner arm first. Tea tree is potent and some skin does not love it.
  • Keep it well away from your eyes.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use this every day?
Yes, but start with once a day. Tea tree is potent and some skin needs time to adjust.
Will it dry my skin out?
It can if you overdo it. If your skin feels tight, cut the tea tree back to 3 drops and always follow with a moisturiser.
How long does it keep?
About two weeks. It contains water and no preservative, so make it in small batches and keep it in the fridge.
