A body wash that draws out the day.

Activated charcoal works by binding to oil and impurities and lifting them away, which makes it excellent for skin that gets congested. Honey stops the whole thing being stripping.

Method
01

Mix the base

In a bowl, combine the Castile soap, activated charcoal powder and honey.

02

Add the oil

Stir in the jojoba or sweet almond oil.

03

Scent it

Add the essential oils and mix until fully blended.

04

Bottle

Pour into a bottle, and shake before each use.

05

How to use

Work a small amount onto a loofah or sponge, lather onto damp skin, then rinse thoroughly.

Tips and swaps

  • A little charcoal goes a long way, and too much just makes a mess.
  • Keep it away from white towels and light-coloured flannels.

Recipe FAQs

Will it stain my shower or towels?
Charcoal can mark grout and light-coloured fabric. Rinse the shower afterwards and keep white towels away from it.
Is it too harsh for daily use?
For most skin, two or three times a week is enough. Daily use can be drying, particularly in winter.
Can I leave the tea tree out?
Yes. It is there for its antibacterial properties, but the wash still works perfectly well without it.
