A facial oil you can mix in the time it takes the kettle to boil.

Facial oils sound intimidating, but this one is just a quick pour and mix. Rosehip and jojoba sink in without feeling greasy, while a drop of sweet orange keeps it bright.

Blend it once, and you have a month of serum in one little bottle.

Method
01

Combine the carriers

Add the rosehip, jojoba and sea buckthorn oils into a 30 ml amber dropper bottle using a small funnel.

02

Add vitamin E and scent

Drop in the vitamin E oil to help it keep, then the sweet orange essential oil, drop by drop.

03

Roll, do not shake

Cap and roll gently between your palms for 20 seconds. Shaking hard just adds air bubbles.

04

Label and use

Massage 3 to 4 drops into clean, damp skin at night. Patch test first if your skin is sensitive.

Tips and swaps

  • Want it scent-free? Leave out the sweet orange and top up with a little extra jojoba.
  • Sweet orange is photosensitising, so keep this an evening serum.
  • Stored cool and dark it keeps for about three months.

Recipe FAQs

Can I use a different carrier oil?
Yes. Sweet almond or grapeseed work well if rosehip is out of stock. Keep the total volume the same.
How long does it last?
Around three months stored cool and dark. Vitamin E slows oxidation and the amber bottle keeps light out.
Is it safe for sensitive skin?
Patch test first. If you react to citrus, leave out the sweet orange for an unscented facial oil.
